Dating my Husband

The Long Awaited Date

Dsc02800 In the Museum cafe, there is a gorgeous painting that I totally love.  It used to hang in an oil building (I think) downtown somewhere and when the offices needed to move they donated the piece to the Museum.  :o)  So now we get to enjoy it!  It had to be fully restored.  Each panel (4, I think) weighs over 1,000 pounds!  They had to have a special crane move the pieces.

Jeff and I had coffee/soda and a sweet.

Dsc02791 This is from a sundial in my folks' backyard.  I love it.

Rain Delay

Dsc02065_2Yesterday, Jeff had to cancel some tree trimming jobs due to the wonderful rain, lightning and thunder we had the night before.  Everything was just too wet and muddy.  He did not want to get the lift stuck again!

So, I tagged along while he went and checked on a lot he was asked to clear. Long story short, he didn't accept the job.  The first bid the owner got was a good one and he knew he couldn't do it for less.

All was not lost!  I spent about 10 minutes taking pictures on the side of the road.  Here's some Mexican Blankets.  I wonder what other states have these?  I've always liked them.  These were growing by a railroad track.  I decided to walk on the track a bit a get some shots of it, too.

While I was snapping away, I could hear the trail whistle. Yay!  I love trains!  They're so loud as the rumble by.  So I waited patiently.  Oh, and I got off the tracks.  I just stood there in the tall grass and Texas clay mud poised to snap a few more pics.

Dsc02073_3  Awesome, huh?  I think so.  I wonder what the Engineer was thinking.  I did wave.  I didn't want him thinking I was some crazy woman getting ready to do who knows what.  But he probably thought I was fairly crazy anyway for standing there in the mud, taking a picture of his train.  Good thing I'll never see him again!  Wonder where it was headed.

You know. I really don't like thinking about moving.  To another home, I mean.  I don't like change that much.  But I do love to travel and see other places.  Maybe that's one reason why I like trains, they're going someplace.  Maybe somewhere I have never been.

Have a good one.
