We took a day trip to Chartres and saw Notre Dame de Chartres. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed this trip. The church was built during two different periods...and I cannot remember both. One spire is in gothic architecture and the other... Mom? Do you remember? Our tour guide, Peter, was excellent.
Yesterday, I went into a new gift shop in our small town. I saw this picture sitting on one of the tables. I thought, "How cute!...it kind of looks familiar." Bending down I see my name in the left corner. I exclaim, "Oh my stars! How funny!" Shop lady says, "Isn't that the cutest thing?" I reply, "Yes, it sure is. I made it!" :o)
I found out that another little gift shop associated with a local church closed. She bought some of their inventory and opened her own shop. The church shop had it priced at $50! No wonder it never sold. :o(
She asked me if I still made these. YES! So after France I will talk with her and iron out some details. She even said there are times when customers come in looking for a specific Bible verse that she cannot get. I said, "I love doing custom work!"
This was a nice surprise upon finishing my last day at Lifegate. I was discouraged and God gave me a small nudge and said, "Do not grow weary in well doing, for in due season you shall reap, if you faint not." Galatians 6:9
And I bought my own art. I picked it up and said I'm buying this back. The shop owner just looked at me and said, "Well, I can't charge you full price." I got a great deal, 50% off. :o)
Jeff is making us a sun shade over our back courtyard. I liked these sparks. The fabric that will go over our frame is the same stuff that nurseries use to shade their partial shade loving plants. It is supposed to lower the temperature by 15 degrees...plus! we're putting in a ceiling fan as well. It'll be nice and breezy back there soon. Yay!
